A few things about the show!

Ok, so the show finally aired and I can't believe how many of our fabulous friends watched! I have a lot to say about the show so here it goes....

1. Yes, my Gram (Matty) is hilarious. That is the first thing everyone has said when they watched they show. "You're grandmother is so funny!". She doesn't even have to think about it, this stuff just comes right out and it's instantly hilarious. It's a gift! So, all of you should come over for dinner on a Sunday, I'll be charging $5 at the door for her comedy show!

2. The camera adds 10 lbs. Totally. Yes, obviously we weigh what the Truth Tube said... but the people I've talked to who actually know me in real life have said "you looked bigger on TV". So, that's nice... I think? Doesn't matter anyway, we've all lost a lot of weight since then!

3. When we taped the show, Dr. Oz got me to eat fish. Now, anyone who really knows me knows how picky I am and that I DO NOT try new foods, especially fish! Well, Kate (the nutritionist) made some sort of fish called Italian Barramundi and Dr. Oz said "Now Nicole, I know you don't eat seafood... but we want you to try this." So, here I am, with two cameras on me, and an audience full of people watching. I just started laughing. But I was thinking "Are you freaken serious right now?". That is like the equivalent of going on Fear Factor and eating worms to me. (Go ahead, call me a drama queen!) Well, I thought I was going to get away with not trying... but then my own MOTHER handed me a fork! Thanks Mom for lookin' out! So, I tried a tiny piece. And Dr. Oz said "How was it?". Now what was I going to say? "Awful, give me something to drink before I throw up?" No. I said "Mmm... kind of tastes like chicken." The flavor was a little chickeny but the texture was NOT! Oh it was awful. I'm sure that is a great tasting fish and the way it was made was probably great too, but I do not like fish. End of story! Afterwards, the first thing my cousin/BFF Alissa said to me was "You just ate fish on TV... I can't believe you did it. I was thinking 'She's not going to eat that, there's no way in hell... she won't eat it... no way. She doesn't eat fish' and then you ate it!" I said "Yea, I was thinking pretty much the same thing!". So, after all that... they didn't even air it! I didn't even have to try it after all! I'm sad they didn't air it though, it was pretty funny for anyone who wasn't ME. Gram definitely stole with the show with all the funny stuff.

4. When I was going to school, I would have to walk up this hill to get to class. I have asthma and I'm overweight so by the time I got to the top of that hill, I felt like I was going to pass out. I do not have to stop because I'm out of breath from walking up 10 stairs... just to let you know. haha. But, I did have problems getting out of breath from walking. Now, I can do 4 miles on the treadmill and feel perfectly fine... and it's only been 6 weeks. :o) Improvement!

5. The girl who did my hair (I can't remember her name right now!) did an awesome job. I believe she used to work on Guiding Light before it went off the air. I've been doing it like that sometimes, it's really easy. She was really sweet. The guy who did my makeup also did a great job! He was really funny. I don't know his name either... but I liked him. But don't worry, I definitely look JUST like that ALL the time. :o)

6. The sweater and pants I wore on the show is already too big on me, oh shucks.

7. My cholesterol used to be a lot worse than that a few years ago. Like twice as bad. I'm sure if I had it tested right now it would be way better. When he said my cholesterol, I thought it was actually good since it was so much worse before... boy was I wrong! I got the "gasp" from the audience. Geez.

8. My "real age" was 34. I'm only 27. So yes, 34 is not a good real age at all. But, I was really nervous about that part because my Wii Fit says I should be about 62! I was thankful the Real Age is more accurate and a lot less embarrassing. If you want to find out your Real Age you can find out here! http://www.realage.com/ This was developed by Dr. Oz and Dr. Roizen (Dr. Mike!). We email Dr. Mike everyday... he's known as "The Enforcer". If I don't do 10,000 steps, I'm gonna hear about it from Dr. Mike! But, I do my 10,000 steps every single day because I like making my Dr. Mike happy! And because, it really does help to walk that much every day. Everyone should do it... go out and buy a pedometer!

9. Yes, I'm short. I'm 5'2". My mom is about 5'11", my Gram is probably 5'9"- 5'10". My Dad is 6'2". My brother is 5'9"... 4 of my cousins are over 5'7". And here I am... 5'2". Not quite fair if you ask me.

10. We are doing a follow-up show, just not sure when yet. I think we will probably go back twice? One as an update and maybe the final one when we reach our goals. That's going to be a while though. But, I'm not positive when or how many times. I'll keep you all posted of course!

Ok, well I think that's it! If my Mom or Gram have anything else to add, I'll post another blog for it. We've received so many comments, emails, phone calls and text messages from so many wonderful, supportive friends! We love you all. THANK YOU!
